Per Niila Stålka aka Stålka Pieti, Project Leader
Per Niila Stålka is 30 years with roots from Jokkmokk and Gällivare. He is employed by Ájtte since 1 August 2005 as the project leader for the Yoik Archive Project. He has many years of interest in yoik and performs yoiks from the Lule Sami yoik tradition. He has a background from the IT business, where he under 10 years has, among other things, been working with IT-security and made a name as the Sami computer virus hunter. He has a Sami political background as member of the Sami Parliament and the Sami Cultural Council.

Ann-Catrin Blind, project researcher, Sweden
Ann-Catrin is living in Jokkmokk, and have been working in the project Swedish Sami bibliography, where Ájtte have been project owner, and whose purpose has been to register Sami and Sami related literature earlier published in Sweden. Ann-Catrin is ethnologist and has studied at the University of Umeå and the University of Uppsala.

Marko Jouste, project researcher, Finland
MA Marko Jouste is a Finnish ethnomusicologist, graduated from the University of Tampere in 1998. Since 1999 he has worked mainly on research of the musical traditions of Sámi people and has published a vast variety of articles in scientifical publications. Jouste is finnishing his dissertation on the historical Sámi musical traditions of the Aanar-district in Finland. At this moment Jouste is working in Yoik Archive Project.
Jouste has also graduated from The Conservatory of Tampere as a classical guitar teacher. As a musician Jouste has also had a special interest on indigenous musical cultures. From 1994 he has been learning classical Turkish music and Turkish ud-lute. He has also been active in the Scandinavian World Music scene as a lutist, singer and composer. He has recorded two CD:s with group called Vilddas.

Berit Kirsten Sara aka Pieraš-Per-Ánne Ristin
Berit Kirsten Sara (Biret Ristin Sara or Pieraš-Per-Ánne Ristin) comes from a reinder herding family in Karašjok and has Northern Sami as her mother tounge. She is a well established yoiker and have been yoiking at different scenes in Sápmi and abroad. Biret Ristin have recorded a CD with traditional yoik (Čalbmelan, DAT CD-22) and has also contributed on other CD:s. Biret Ristin was taking active part in the founding of Juoigiid Searvi (The Yoik Association) 1997 and was the leader of the associations from the start until March 2006. She gives courses in yoik for children and adults.
